Supporting & Celebrating 150 Years Of The Torbay Lifeboat

To mark the 150th year anniversary, Boyce Brixham will be donating £20.00 to the Torbay Lifeboat for each “For Sale” board erected over the next 12 months.  The campaign is launched on the 1st of July and there are specially designed new “For Sale” boards to promote this initiative.

Boyce Brixham’s Managing Director, Mark Boyce, commented “we are very excited to get this under way and it is our way of acknowledging what a great asset the Torbay Lifeboat is to Brixham and the security it gives to all at sea in this area”.

The station was established in Brixham in 1866.  The Torquay Station was established in 1876 and was closed in 1923 when a motor lifeboat was placed at Brixham.  In 1924 the Brixham Station was renamed Torbay.  The first lifeboat station was at Bolton Cross, Brixham and was relocated to the Breakwater in 1872.

To see the proud history, please visit the Torbay Lifeboat website.  Suffice to say that the crew of the Torbay Lifeboat have been awarded 27 medals!

We are delighted to support the Torbay Lifeboat and will be donating regular amounts with this “For Sale” board campaign.
