With summer behind us we can take stock of what has been a very busy period. Brixham has been buzzing! With many successful summer events and festivals, the town has had much to enjoy - Pirate Festival, Brixfest, Trawler Race Day, Brixham Hap’nin, RNLI Lifeboat Week, Steam Fair and Fishstock.
Fishstock, the last of those events, was a wonderful community day and what was particularly interesting was the number of Torquay and Paignton faces that we spotted amongst the crowd. It is so pleasing to see the residents of the Bays two other towns beginning to visit Brixham more regularly and it is recognition of how the town has been regenerated in recent years. Yes, there are still more improvements required but Brixham is attracting a wider audience year on year.
Here at Boyce Brixham we have been hitting a record number of sales and it has been really refreshing to see many more locals making the move after many years of us mainly selling to buyers from outside Devon. There has also been much more action at the “top end” and we have negotiated a number of sales at £500,000, £600,000 and £700,000.
Prices have hardened but any price increases have remained sensible and going into the autumn it is still vital that vendors are balanced with their asking prices.
We are very excited about the market in 2016 and as long as the general economy stays on track we hopefully will see another very active year in Brixham.
We would like to congratulate all those organisers and contributors who made those summer events so memorable for all the right reasons. These occasions go from strength to strength and are enjoyed by thousands of locals and visitors.

Boyce Brixham Covid-19 Information Regarding Viewings and Valuations
Following the latest change in government guidelines. Our Director Mark Boyce has the following message about the New Procedures and Strict Guidelines we will be following to ensure the safety and well being of our Staff, Clients and potential buyers.
"Welcome Back!As you are probably aware The Government has now lifted restrictions on Valuations & property viewings and we are now ready to safely organise these for you in line with Government and Health England guidelines. You will see links here to both The Government Guidelines and The Guild ‘Safe as houses’ Protocol (Links below). We strongly suggest that you read these prior to making appointments for valuations or viewings so that you are aware of the responsibilities that both you and ourselves must undertake.
We are talking with our vendors and many will accept viewings from now but some naturally prefer to still avoid viewings (especially if they are vulnerable or self-isolating). We have been working effectively from home but from Monday 18th May we will be operating from our offices again but urge you to call or send an email rather than visit the offices. We will only be permitted to allow into the office one person at any one time so calling or emailing may save you waiting in the street!
