Francois Thorens, a Swiss Developer and long term friend of Mark Boyce (Director, LJ Boyce), was extremely fortunate to be granted planning permission to build four chalets (3 apartments in each) in the small idyllic village of St. Jean. St. Jean is real 'Heidi' country with breathtaking views and wonderful air. This region is very protected and planning permission for any development is difficult to obtain.

Location

St. Jean (1330m), a very small village, is located just below the established ski resort of Grimentz (1600m) and in the Valais canton of Switzerland. Found on the map between Verbier and Zermatt, and not far from the Matterhorn itself. Approximately 1.5 hours from Geneva and with the small airport of Sion only 40 minutes away. Skiing ranges between 1500m up to 2900m & you could mountain climb as high as 4000m!

A mixture of three, two and one bedroom homes (ranging from 50m² to 100m²) - just 3 in each chalet block - some with garden areas and others with balconies. Range from CHF 295,000 (Swiss francs) to CHF 460,000 with current rate (July 07) at 2.30 Swiss francs to the pound (the Swiss franc is currently weak). The purchase costs are approximately 4% of the total apartment cost and 'council tax' in this region is relatively low compared to the UK.
